Commonly referred to as ‘America’s Favorite Quiz Show’, game show Jeopardy! Is currently in its 30thseason.
Tonight’s episode sees an important milestone for host Alex Trebek as it marks the 6,829th time he’ll be the man with all the questions – setting a world record for most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter (same programme).

There has only been one episode of the show that has been hosted by a different presenter - an April Fool's Day special in 1997 which saw Alex switched places with Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak.
“It’s an honor to hold the Guinness World Record for hosting Jeopardy!, which I’ve often said is the best of reality T.V.,” Trebek said. “We have had incredible support from our viewers for the past 30 years, and without them, I wouldn’t have set this record.”
Alex’s record adds to a number of existing records related to the quiz show.

The show has won 11 times for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show, five for Trebek as Outstanding Game Show Host, and12 times for directing and writing, with Trebek also being honored as a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Back in 2011, In 2011, IBM fielded a computer named “Watson” on the show against two highly successful past contestants; it comprehensively defeated them both, winning $77,147 (£48,734), in turn setting a record for Highest score by a computer on quiz show ‘Jeopardy!.
